Margot Steinberg

Margot Steinberg (they/them) is a Philadelphia-based dance artist and teacher. They grew up in Westport, CT and in 2016 earned their Bachelor of Arts in Dance with concentrations in Choreography and Teaching from Muhlenberg College.

Margot joined the PlayArts team in 2017, and has taught movement to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Margot is a qualified dance and gymnastics instructor, and emphasizes creativity and collaboration in their classes.

In Summer 2019, Margot attended the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers at the Creative Dance Center in Seattle, WA. The workshop has strongly impacted Margot’s teaching style and goals, such that all of her classes now feature the BrainDance, which is based on the developmental movements in babies learning to walk. They also utilize the 5 Part Lesson Plan structure that allows dancers to explore, create, perform, reflect, and learn technique in every lesson.

Margot is currently pursuing their PreK-4 Certification and Master’s in Early Childhood Education at Drexel University and is a recipient of a T.E.A.C.H Scholarship through PlayArts.
